“A road will be there and a way; it will be called the Holy Way. The unclean will not travel on it… Fools will not wander on it.” — Isaiah 35:8
There are doctrines so rebellious that even Babel would blush. And among them stands one of the greatest inversions of divine order ever whispered from Eden to this hour: the idea that women should shepherd the Body of Christ as pastors. This is not a question of dignity, intelligence, or worth—for many women possess wisdom that would humble the tongues of kings. No, this is a matter of form, not capacity; of design, not desire; of revelation, not relevance.
For in this age that chants equality like Babel once chanted “Let us make a name for ourselves,” we must return to the ancient path—a path not drawn by seminaries, but by the Spirit who moved over the waters in Genesis and speaks still.
The Bride Cannot Lead the Bridegroom
The relationship between Christ and His Church is not a cultural metaphor—it is the cornerstone of eternal symbolism. Paul, writing under divine inspiration, declared: “The husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church” (Ephesians 5:23). This is not an echo of Corinthian customs—it is a cosmic truth, flowing from the Logos Himself. Christ leads; the Church follows. He speaks; she listens. He dies; she is redeemed. To invert this is to depict the Church as leading Christ. A Bride preaching to her Bridegroom. A body instructing its own head. What madness is this? What theology, so drunk on equality, dares turn the Shepherd into a sheep?
God’s Design Is Not Democracy
Many declare that Scripture must be “updated.” They argue, “That was then; this is now.” But since when did the clay begin to revise the Potter? God’s Word is not a government constitution to be amended by each generation. It is the eternal breath of the I AM. Every word, every syllable is sharper than any sword and truer than any trend.
Those who claim that Paul’s exhortation in 1 Timothy 2:12 was culturally bound betray the Spirit who wrote it. If Paul’s words were for Corinth alone, who will tell us which verses are for Rwanda? For Burundi? For Athens? Should we then edit the Bible by national census? No, dear saints. “All Scripture is God-breathed” (2 Timothy 3:16)—not culturally bound, but divinely anchored.
Equality: The Velvet Noose
There is a doctrine sweeping the pulpits, dressed in compassion but soaked in poison. It is the gospel of “equality.” But make no mistake: this is not biblical equality of worth, but secular sameness of role. A doctrine that has exchanged the glory of divine distinction for the mediocrity of human uniformity.
Just as in the French language, where the masculine and feminine dance in grammatical balance—a metaphor of form, not oppression—so too did God design male and female in beautiful distinction. Not so one may suppress the other, but so that both might reveal different facets of His nature. The man, a picture of Christ. The woman, a picture of the Church. To blur this is not to uplift women—it is to erase mystery. It is to flatten Eden into an office cubicle.
Theology: When Men Study God, Yet Know Him Not
They boast: “I have studied God. I have three degrees in theology.” But theology—science of the divine—is a tower of Babel when it lacks the Spirit. Can man, who cannot count the stars, claim to have mastered the Infinite? They quote Calvin and Barth, but tremble not before Isaiah. They analyze the Trinity like a math problem and dissect Scripture like a frog.
But “He leads the humble in what is right and teaches them His way” (Psalm 25:9). And again: “You who are inexperienced, learn prudence; you who are foolish, develop common sense” (Proverbs 8:5). God is not learned by syllabi, but by surrender.
The Rise of the Feminine Pulpit: A Babel in Heels
Why do women pursue the pulpit? Not all out of rebellion—some, out of misguidance, having been told that it is an act of justice. But justice without truth is merely activism. Love without holiness is lust in religious robes.
This is not merely an error in ecclesiology—it is a spiritual insurrection. It is the Church attempting to shepherd Christ. Jezebel did not die in the Old Testament—her spirit lives in pulpits where women seize authority not given, and men remain silent out of cowardice. The same Jezebel that Elijah confronted now smiles behind modern conference flyers. But the Lord still raises His Elijahs.
Watchman, Who Taught You This Gospel?
Was it the Jesuit seminaries? The feminist theologians? The whisper of the serpent who still says, “Did God really say…?” (Genesis 3:1). Many churches, once Pentecostal, now speak in a new tongue: the language of inclusivity, of democratic spiritualism. They no longer tremble at the altar but applaud at panels. The Gospel of the Spirit is replaced by a program of protocols. But the Holy Spirit is not confused. He never calls one to preach whom He has already restricted. God cannot contradict Himself.
The True Shepherd Is a Man — Because Christ Is
Dear reader, Christ did not incarnate as a generic human. He came as a man. Not because men are superior, but because of what the man symbolizes in divine economy. He is the head. He lays down his life. He represents Christ. And the woman, by divine poetry, represents the Church—receiving, nurturing, submitting to the loving leadership of her Redeemer. To reverse this is to reverse the Gospel.
Let Us Not Be Found on the Wrong Side of Eternity
Parable: A woman stood at a golden gate, with a stole around her neck and sermons in her bag. “Lord,” she cried, “did I not preach in your name?” And the voice thundered back, “But I never sent you to do so.”
This is not an attack on women. It is a call to alignment. Women are precious, powerful, prophetic—but not pastors. They are Deborahs, not Aarons. They are Marys at Jesus’ feet, not Caiaphases in His temple. They are pillars of prayer, mothers of nations, and servants of the Word—but they are not shepherds of His flock. The road is narrow, dear saints. And fools shall not wander on it.
Let the Church repent. Let pulpits be cleansed. Let women be honored in their divine roles, and let men rise to theirs. For the Shepherd is coming soon—and He will ask if His design was preserved. See full theological reflection on this topic from the Open Christian University Blog.
